ABOUT THE WRITER

My name is Amelia Cornell and I live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I started casually blogging under the title Ace in 2018, and since then I've become more dedicated to the blog as a whole. I'm largely keen on the whole hometown theme because I believe in supporting your community through various means. I've always enjoyed reading local city blogs (not just from MKE either!), but also local newspapers like the Shepherd Express, for example.

The Ace is a hobby blog that I use as an outlet for my creative side. I do enjoy writing, but don't do enough of it, and I find that blogging comes very naturally. I spend a good amount of my free time working on the Ace (in my mind, it's capitalized as  ACE, an acronym for Amelia Cornell Everyday - because it really is a daily project!).

So how did the Ace actually get its name? Just came to me, honestly. But it does hold some meaning. The name was actually my own nickname from years back when I worked a lowly fast food job. I would mark my initials "AC" on my drink cup, and one coworker would always mark "/DC" after it, called me AC/DC for a while, then marked my cup randomly with an "e", and from then on called me Ace til we parted ways. So does it have real meaning? I don't know. Up to you.
